The bidirectional detonation flame arresters type DTX(NG)DN(DN)FSTA (-T;-TT) prevent against a flashback during explosions (deflagrations) and stable detonations of explosive gas/air mixtures in pipe systems.
The flame arresters DTX(NG)DN(DN)FSTA (-T; -TT) are tested and checked as bidirectional detonation flame arresters and are available for the explosion group IIA. The maximum operating pressure is 1.2 bar absolute and the maximum operating temperature is 60°C. The eccentric shape of the housing is typical for the pipe protection. If there is condensate inside the flame arrester, the type of construction enables the liquid to flow off without letting larger quantities of liquid conglomerate in the housing.
An installation of the detonation flame arrester type DTX(NG)DN(DN)FSTA (-T;-TT) in horizontal as well as in vertical pipelines is allowed. Equipped with one or two temperature sensors (PT 100), protection against a short-time burning at one or both sides is provided. When operating with only one temperature sensor, this one must be mounted on that side where the potential ignition source is expected to be.
All detonation flame arresters of the type DTX(NG)DN(DN)FSTA (-T;-TT) are constructed symmetrically and provide bidirectional flashback protection. They are available for the nominal widths DN 25 to DN 400 in different versions (see successive chart).
The main components of the detonation flame arresters are the two housing halves and the central flame trap consisting of a containing cage and the crimped ribbon. Possible materials for the housing halves are cast steel 1.0619 (ASTM A216-WCB) and cast stainless steel 1.4408 (ASTM A351 CF8M). Possible materials for the housing seal are PTFE and HD3822.
Flange connection: ANSI 150 Ibs. RF or EN 1092-1 PN10/16 Form B1.
The detonation flame arresters are provided with a declaration of conformity (CE mark) and an operating and maintenance instruction according to the legal requirements.
