End-of-line deflagration arresters are used to protect containers and pipework systems against atmospheric explosions. They prevent the re-ignition of such plant parts.
Deflagration arresters of type DE are designed to prevent a flame flashback during deflagrations of potentially explosive vapour/air or gas/air mixtures of explosion group IIA (maximum experimental safe gap greater than 0.9 mm) at a maximum operating pressure of 1.2 bar and a maximum operating temperature of 60 degrees C. A vent cap is attached or welded on at one connection end.
The arresters consist of a housing of steel or stainless steel with an arrester package of two flame arrester elements..
Deflagration arresters are delivered along with a declaration of conformity and with operating and maintenance instructions.
End-of-line deflagration arresters made of steel 1.0120 and stainless steel 1.4301 and 1.4571 with nominal diameters of DN15 to DN 350 are produced with the following types of connections:
- M sleeve (female thread)
- F flange connection
- A welded end connection
- G male thread
Any combination of connection types at both connection ends is possible.
