The DTB DN XX detonation arresters prevent a flame flashback during explosions (deflagrations) and detonations of potentially explosive gas/air or vapour/air mixtures in pipework systems.
These detonation arresters are constructed of two housings made of spheroidal cast iron/steel/stainless steel and an arrester cage made of steel/stainless steel with 6 flame barriers. The flame arrester elements consist of 10 mm thick stainless steel 1.4571.
The detonation arresters DTB DN XX can be used as detonation-resistant fittings in plants working with flammable liquids and gases of explosion group IIA (maximum experimental safe gap greater than 0.9 mm). The maximum operating pressure is 1.1 bar, the maximum operating temperature is 60 degrees C.
Detonation arresters must only be connected to pipework of identical nominal diameter which correspond with the nominal connection diameter of the arrester. As these detonation arresters are bi-directional, the installation position and direction are optional.
In accordance with legal requirements, detonation arresters are delivered along with a declaration of conformity and with operating and maintenance instructions.
The following designs are available as standard types; special designs are available on request.
All detonation arresters from this range are constructed in straight design (see dimension sheet). They are available with nominal diameters from DN 15 to DN 150.
The detonation arrester housings are made of standard steel 1.0038, stainless steel 1.4301 and stainless steel 1.4571. For universal use, particularly with respect to the conversion of existing plants, the detonation arresters are available with the following types of connections:
- M sleeve (female thread)
- F flange connection
- A welded end connection
- G male thread
Any combination of connection types at both connection ends is possible.
